Vicky Shick has been involved in the NYC dance community since the late 1970’s as a performer, choreographer, and teacher. She was a member of the Trisha Brown Company for six years, during which time she received a New York Dance and Performance Award, a “Bessie” for performance. Shick regularly shows her own work and has collaborated with artist Barbara Kilpatrick since 1994. Their collaborative pieces have been presented by Dance Theater Workshop (DTW), Danspace Project, The Brooklyn Museum, and others. “Undoing,” their seventh project together, received a “Bessie” for “outstanding creative achievement” in 2003. Vicky Shick is currently a Guggenheim Foundation Fellow.
